Next Level Urgent Care Opens First of Seven San Antonio Centers
SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 10, 2022) – Next Level Urgent Care, which treats approximately 600,000 patients per year at its 26 Houston-area clinics, has opened the first of seven San Antonio-area locations planned for this year.
Next Level’s first San Antonio clinic is located at 1150 N. Loop 1640 W. at Blanco Road where patients of all ages can receive urgent care services for chronic and acute illness, fractures, lacerations, contusions and other non-life-threatening injuries.
Like all Next Level Urgent Care locations, the 3,000 square-foot location offers extended hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week and on holidays at a fraction of the cost of hospital emergency room or other emergency room visits.
Six other San Antonio-area Next Level Urgent Care centers are scheduled to open by November. Locations include clinics in Olmos Park, 223 E. Hildebrand Avenue; South Rim, 5311 North Loop 1604 W.; Encino Park, 22151 Bulverde Road; Alamo Heights, 7407 Broadway; Grandview, 11034 Military Drive W.; and Stevens Ranch, 14249 Potranco Road.
“We’ve been looking at San Antonio for quite some time,” says Next Level Urgent Care Founder and CEO Juliet Breeze, MD. “We set out to identify locations in both established and emerging areas of town where individuals can access quality care where they need it, when they need it.”
The company’s expansion into San Antonio follows an announcement last month of seven new locations opening in Austin. Next Level also is adding locations in Houston and Beaumont.
The company’s beginnings actually trace back to a Saturday afternoon in 2013 when Breeze sought weekend care for one of her four children who was experiencing a severe earache.
With her pediatrician’s office closed, she opted for a freestanding urgent care center rather than sit for hours in a hospital emergency room. After a five-minute visit, she was handed a bill for $1,000.
“The pediatrician would have cost a $60 co-pay,” she recalls.
The experience inspired Breeze, a physician and entrepreneur with more than 20 years in healthcare, to launch a network of urgent care centers offering short wait times and quality care for non-life threatening situations for as little as an insurance co-pay.
Today, the company offers urgent care, primary care service and an employer-paid membership model known as Next Level PRIME. Businesses pay a flat rate, about $60 per employee, for their workers and their healthcare dependents to receive primary care, urgent care, telemedicine and health coaching, all at no cost to employees. Labs, durable medical equipment and immunizations also are included.
