A San Antonio Senior Gives Back in a ‘Powerful’ Way
The #1 ranked student for the 2023-2024 senior class at an NEISD San Antonio high school made media headlines this month with her community-centric idea. Rylie Marafioto, senior tennis star at MacArthur High School, started a tennis camp called ‘Power Play’ – a student-led camp free to 6-9th grade children who are new to tennis, or have otherwise not had opportunities to participate.
Rylie rallied her coach, Ashley Hildebrand, and other high school tennis players in the district to help her get the camp up and running, including the securement of local sponsors. Next Level Urgent Care was one of 3 sponsors in the San Antonio community to support ‘Power Play’, which has gained multiple participants since opening registration. Next Level provided banners, prizes, funding for t-shirts, and other materials to help drive community awareness for the camp.
“It makes me so happy to be able to provide these experiences to these younger students, to see them enjoying the game I grew up on, a game I’ve always held close to my heart.”Â
