If your child is experiencing any of the following, you should seek out medical care:

• A high or persistent fever (If you have a newborn with a fever of 100.4 or higher, you should seek medical care immediately. A fever above 102 for children 3 months-3 years is also worrisome). If the child has a fever but is playful and active, this symptom may be less concerning.
• Trouble breathing
• Persistent pain (earaches, sore throat, headache, stomach ache)
• Eye discharge that impairs sight or doesn’t resolve on its own during the day
• Frequent vomiting or diarrhea. If your child is not urinating at least once every 6-8 hours, they may need to be treated for dehydration.
• Vomit or diarrhea that contains blood.
• Illness that is getting worse instead of staying the same for more than 4 days
• Any out of the ordinary symptoms after being exposed to a contagious illness or after traveling out of the country recently

Each of these symptoms may warrant a visit to your child’s pediatrician.  If your child’s pediatrician is unavailable, Next Level Urgent can treat any non-emergent conditions such as the one’s listed here.  If our clinician’s feel that your child requires emergency care, we will not charge you for your visit.

If you feel that your child does not need medical care, make sure they get plenty of fluids and rest.  You should consult your child’s pediatrician before giving your child any medications.
